  Objective

The Dutch Friends of The Hebrew University foundation started in 1977.
Its goal reads:

  1. to promote ties of friendship between
The Netherlands and The Hebrew Unversity of Jerusalem,
  2. to further the development of
    The Hebrew University, along with
  3. everything else conducive to the realizaion of these objects

Depending on Donations

Dutch Friends of the Hebrew University supports initatives that contribute to achieving the beforementioned objective. In order to achieve our goal we are fully dependent on donations.

Since 2004, the support by our foundation takes the form of (co)financing of specific projects of the Hebrew University.
Currently we emphasize the research project "Signaling pathways and tissue dynamics in pancreatic betacell regeneration" which is expected to have important implications for the development of regenerative therapy for diabetes. In the recent past the research project "Together against Parkinson's!" was succesfully supported.

As part of our fundraising campagn we organise socalled "Scopus Circle" meetings for our donros and interested parties. Amongst our guest lecturers of the past we have Mr. Ehud Barak, former Prime Minister of Israel and Mr. Dennis Ross, US envoy to the Middle East under Clinton and preparer of, and permanently present at, the Oslo Accords.
